Award-winning Author Claudia Villarreal was born in Laredo, Texas and raised in Zapata, a small South Texas border community. She graduated from Zapata High School and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M International University. After obtaining an alternative teaching certification, Ms. Villarreal taught Special Education throughout schools in both Texas and California
While in California, she became a member of The Screen Actor’s Guild. Claudia wears many hats: from Educator to Business Owner to Professional Actress to Children’s Book Author. Her first children’s book, The Alphabet Thief Who Stole the Vowels, has sold close to 25,000 copies to date.
In 2018, Claudia started penning what would eventually become her second book. The Bully Who Learned to Love was published in 2019. The goal of Ms. Villarreal’s latest endeavor is to help open dialogue about diversity and bullying. Ms. Villarreal’s new book tackles issues that are often hard to discuss. Targeted for readers ages 4-8, The Bully Who Learned to Love, is a great lesson for a person of any age.
The approachable antagonist, the Alphabet Thief, hatches a plan to entice and capture all the vowels and whisk them away to a land far more enchanted.
